*  Giddha and Luddi team of the college participated in Inter Zonal Youth Festival held at Doraha in Jan 2009. These teams also participated in National Youth Festival held at Amritsar.

  *  Project Shakti on Women Empowerment inaugurated by Madam Jean Rodrigues was held on 4th Feb’09. Basic training for defence against molestation was given to girls and they were encouraged to achieve perfection of body mind and spirit to face modern challenges

  *  Department of Economics organized an extension lecture on “Global Financial Crisis and Indian Economy” by Dr. Suddakadulla, Regional Director, RBI on 5th Feb’09.

  *  27th Annual Prize Giving Function of the college was held on 28th February. Prof. (Dr.) Raj Bahadur Director, Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest.

  *  Inter College IT Fest “TechRiti’09” was organized by Department of Computer Application of the college on 16th Feb’09 in which teams from 20 colleges participated in 14 different IT related events

  *  • 24th Annual Convocation of the college was held on 28th March’09. Mr. G.Madhavan, IAS (Retd.), Chief Information Commissioner, Haryana delivered the convocation address.

  *  The college organized P.U. Chandigarh Zone A Youth & Heritage festival from 21st Oct. to 24th Oct. 2008. 10 institutions participated in this festival. The college team got 1st position in Group Singing (Indian), Knitting, Short Story writing, Kavishri, Folk Dance (Luddi) and Giddha , 2nd prize in Classical Music(vocal) ,Cartooning, Embroidery(Dasuti), Crochet work, Mehndi designing and application, Poem writing, Ladies Traditional songs, Classical dance and 3rd position in Geet/Ghazal, Rangoli, Skit, Percussion (Tal Vadya), Non Percussion (Swar Vadya), Group Folk Orchestra, Pakhi Designing, Poem Writing, Vaar and Group Dance (General).
       In P.U Inter Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival held at Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, from 16th Nov. to 19th Nov, 2008 our college won 1st position in Folk Dance (Luddi), 3rd position in Giddha and Group Singing(Indian).

  *  S.M.Nagpal ex-banker and insurance consultant delivered a talk to commerce students adout IRDA and opportunities in Insurance Industry.
