| GENERAL RULES OF ADMISSION |

- Candidate and their parents/guardians are expected to read the prospectus carefully; before applying for admission.
- Admission to various classes is made strictly on MERIT, in accordance with the University and Government rules. The merit shall be determined on the basis of marks in all subjects taken up by the candidates. In case marks of two or more students are the same, the age factor would decide the merit, the older the senior.
- Failed students from this institution as well as from other institutions shall not be admitted to this college.
- It shall be the sole discretion of the principal/admission committee to admit or not to admit the detained students of the college.
- Students disqualified by any University/Board shall not be admitted to the college. Such students need not apply for admission.
- Every candidate is required to certify that he/she is joining the college with the permission of his/her parents
or guardian.
- In case of late declaration of result by the Punjab University, the normal admission will take place within 10 working days of the declaration of result.
- This rule will not apply to a candidate who passes the lower examination from any other University/Board. It means those students whose result is declared late by the University other than Punjab University shall not be allowed late admission to this college under any circumstances.
- Candidates with a break in their studies will not be admitted to this college. So GAP CASES shall not be considered.
- The principal's decision shall be final and binding regarding interpretation of rules or admission. Notwith- standing any rule incorporated in the prospectus, the principal reserves the right of admission.
- In case the conduct of a student during the session is not satisfactory, the principal has every right to cancel his/her admission.
All the admissions to the college are provisional and subject to the approval of the Punjab University. The college will not be held responsible in case the university due to any reason whatsoever does not approves the admission of the student. i.e. for giving incomplete information, concealing necessary facts or attaching incomplete testimonials or choosing wrong combination of subjects, or delayed submission of certificates etc The payment of any fine/penalty imposed by the P.U . for any default in this regard shall be the personal responsibility of the students.
In case of doubt, parents/guardians/students are requested to consult and confirm the eligibility for admission so that hardship/rejections are avoided later. Students are strictly forbidden from forwarding application, appeal or any other communication direct to any authority or newspaper, other than the principal and any contravention of this rule will be liable to disciplinary action.
Students are advised to see the notices displayed on the various notice boards. The notices displayed on the various notice boards are deemed to have been served on the students. Any other instruction or rule received from DPI (Colleges) U.T., Chandigarh Administration/P.U, after the publication of this prospectus will be binding on students. Copy of any instructions will be available with the Admission Committee/Office.
In case any student is found to have supplied false information or certificates etc, or is found to have withheld or concealed any information in the application form, the student's name would be removed from the college and all fees and other dues paid by him/her up to the date of such removal would be forfeited. The college may take any further action against the student and his/her parents /guardian that it considers suitable as per rules.
There exists in the college a committee to prevent " Sexual Harassment " of Women and for the preservation and enforcement of right to gender equality of working women. A committee headed by a seniorlecturer holds its meeting periodically and a female can seek remedy in case of any sexual harassment.
